Debut five song EP for Sydney band Hostile Objects that features stalwarts from the likes of Extortion, Grand Fatal, Downtime, Blasting Process and a load more. Playing a fast and at times even melodic style of traditional hardcore, one can hear influences ranging from Poison Idea, Black Flag and even Massapeal too. While the influences may not be overtly unique, the end sound Hostile Objects produce, is really quite different to other bands around the country. Largely guitar driven there are plenty of cool lead overdubs and hooks that break up the at times flat out drum assault. This is a great debut release from a band who progess at a really rapid rate and definitely worth checking out.
