CRUCIAL FIVE

trappedunderice-Big-Kiss-Goodnight

While I always thought Trapped Under Ice were a good band, a little over hyped perhaps, I was never 100% completely sold on them. I like hard music, but I also really like a little melody with it too. Basically I need a hook of some sort and until this album, TUI never really hooked me in. TUI have really diversified their sound and its the little subtleties that make the difference. A vocal effect here and a backing lead there, really make the difference between a boring record and a great record. Some TUI fans are dissing this record, which to me means I'm not the only one to pick up on the difference. Standout track for me is "You and I", any song that has me hitting repeat after a first listen is a definite winner, I think TUI may have just wrote their anthem.
