News out of the D.R.I. camp is that guitarist Spike Cassidy recently underwent a total colectomy, a procedure which removes the person's entire colon. Cassidy, who was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2004, is in the hospital recovering from a surgery related infection.

Bridge Nine newcomers, Expire, begin recording their debut full-length for the label on January 30th, 2012. The band will be holed up at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee, WI for the following week, laying down the tracks that will be their yet-to-be-titled LP. Jay Maas of Getaway Recordings will handle the mixing and mastering aspects of the album.

Jesse Michaels former frontman of Operation Ivy, Big Rig and Common Rider is back with a new band called Classics Of Love. The band also features members of The Hard Girls and their self-titled debut full-length comes out on February 14 on Asian Man Records. For now they've released a video for the track "Castle In The Sky".
