From the streets of South Central-Los Angeles and the competitive Hollywood music scene of the 1980's, the band rose to prominence, only to fall apart when on the verge of "making it."

Last week From Ashes Rise uploaded a photo to their Facebook account of a calendar with four dates marked. At The end of January they have the 28 - 30 marked down as recording. These sessions mark the first studio sessions for the band since their 2009 reunion and first studio release since 2003's Nightmares LP, though they did release the Live Hell live album in early 2010.

As if yesterday's news about A DEATH IN THE FAMILY breaking up wasn't bad enough, today Brisbane's FIRES OF WACO called quits on their existence as a band. A simple facebook message: "Fires of Waco 2010-2012 It's over. Details for our last show coming soon. Thanks." has been followed up by a longer statement from guitarist Ryan Sim.

In what can only be described as absolutely tragic news, Melbourne's A DEATH IN THE FAMILY have decided to call it quits and broken up. The band released a statement via their facebook page this afternoon to deliver the news. Sad day indeed!
