Easily the most prolific band around in terms of releasing material, Canada’s Fucked Up return with a new double album. Billed as a rock opera, this 18 song masterpiece is split into four acts and is sure to divide the loyal Fucked Up faithful. Perhaps the most easily accessible and mellow sounding Fucked Up release yet, these songs..are all multilayered with a comprehensive range of instruments and backing vocals. Big climatic build-ups and stadium endings make for some brilliant and catchy song writing that delivers on the concept of this release. I really can’t describe the sound of Fucked Up, they uniquely have their own distinct sound, but vocally think along the lines of Poison Idea’s Jerry A perhaps. As for me, I’m pretty sold on this record and give it the double thumbs up.
