Better Things To Do: The early history of Canberra straightedge is a really cool 20 page zine that documents the rise of straight edge in the late 90s through interviews with four people: Doug Smith (Forward Defence / Bulldog Spirit), Ken Galvin (Lookin In), Dean Redzic (Upperhand) and Alex McAlpine. The zine covers the first wave of straight edge through Forward Defence and the flow on effect it had in Canberra. Also covers the four participants decision to stop being straight and why they chose to do so. Is a real interesting insight into hardcore in the nation's capital in the 90s.
