Byron Bay's SHACKLES must be the most musically productive & prolific band in Australia at the moment. On the back of releasing two EPs & a split last year they drop their debut LP featuring 18 new songs. Blending a mix of hardcore, doom, thrash & grind, SHACKLES come across sounding like I Exist, Extortion and Mindsnare all rolled into the one band. It's a unique approach, but one they manage to pull off brilliantly. This album is very much drum driven, with the band's two drummers controlling the pace of things. The length of songs has evoled beyond the minute long blast of early releases and the intensity of a SHACKLES live show is some how harnessed on this release.
