The Double Negative Facebook page recently announced the departure of vocalist Kevin Collins from the band with a full statement from guitarist Epic Warfare. Double Negative's final releases with Kevin Collins on vocals were the Hardcore Confusion Vol 1 & 2 7"s from this year.

Gwar guitarist Cory Smoot (aka Flattus Maximus) is dead. His band members found him deceased this morning as they prepared to cross the Canadian border. The group was preparing to cross into Canada to play some shows on their current tour with Every Time I Die, Ghoul and Warbeast. Smoot had joined Gwar in 2002 and first appeared on their 2004 album, 'War Party.'

Brisbane's prolific Fires Of Waco have had a busy 2011 – releasing their debut full length Old Ghosts Never Sleep and touring with the likes of Miles Away, Defeater and Balance And Composure.
