Rest Assured Zine Launches Record Label

Having established a strong online presence over the past year, restassuredzine.com is set to broaden its horizons with the launch of a newly established record label. The D.I.Y label will be primarily specializing in vinyl releases for the Australian punk and hardcore scene.

The first release for REST ASSURED RECORDS is already underway and currently at the pressing plant. RAR001 will be the debut 4-song, seven inch offering for new Sydney hardcore band BONELESS. Formed by ex BAD BLOOD members, Paul Cullens (frontman) and Matt Sourdin (guitarist), BONELESS marks a return to traditional short, fast, loud hardcore in the vein of Sick Of It All and Last Nerve. This release will be a 300 copy (100 white/200 black) seven inch pressing due out Jan 2013, with pre-orders starting next week.

Currently slated for the second release on the label will be the debut full-length offering from Newcastle’s HAZARDS. Fronted by Australian hardcore mainstay Luke Dolan (Pitfall/Arms Reach/The Deadwalk/Life Love Regret), HAZARDS offer up a unique style that harks back to the 80s & 90s era of melodic, guitar-driven, punk rock influenced by the likes of Husker Du, Swiz, The Wipers, Pegboy, Embrace and Dag Nasty. HAZARDS are set to hit the studio in early 2013 to record what will surely become an Australian classic.
