Adelaide’s Paper Arms have entered the studio to being recording the follow up to their highly acclaimed 2010 debut ‘Days Above Ground’. Currently recording with Jimmy Balderston at Capitol Sounds Studio in their hometown, the 13 new tracks will be mixed in the US by Brian McTernan at Salad Days Studio.

The Hard Targets sound betrays a range of influences ranging from protopunk, bootboy glam, pub rock and power pop. It's been variously described as "gritty rock'n'roll "and "man music" and their debut seven inch urges it to be filed under "maximum r'n 'b".

Southern California rock ‘n’ roll heroes Social Distortion have debuted a brand new video for their song “Gimme The Sweet And Lowdown” from their latest album, Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes. The animated video was created by Olya & Vira Ishchuk (known as "The Mad Twins") and loosely celebrates the life of frontman Mike Ness.

Legendary NYC post-hardcore act Quicksand will be rereleasing a very special edition of their debut album, Slip via Shop Radio Cast and Dine Alone Records, September 11, 2012. Limited to 1500 pressings, the remastered version of Slip comes on 180g black vinyl, including a gatefold jacket full of never-before-seen photos, and a cover of The Smith's "How Soon Is Now."

Tony Sly, singer and chief songwriter for veteran California pop punk band No Use For a Name, has passed away at age 41. His cause of death has yet to be released. Fat Wreck Chords broke the news for many, with a message on their site.

Baltimore, Maryland’s Mindset have finished recording for their first proper full length, to be released via React! Records and entitled Leave No Doubt.  The LP was recorded at Developing Nations with Kevin Bernsten (Pulling Teeth, Pianos Become The Teeth, Praise). Check out a teaser video for the title track.

To the uninitiated, Burning Love is a group from Toronto, Canada with a chip on their shoulder and electric blood in their veins; their output a desperate, venomous and informed rock n' roll fury that sways and swaggers somewhere between hardcore punk and the darker side of blues gone wrong.

Sydney band, RESTRAINT will be reuniting to play this year's RATFEST at the Coogee Bay Hotel on August 31st. The lineup for Restraint will include original members, Pete Abordi on vocals, Pete Bursky on guitar, Ricky Taylor on bass and Mick "Tough Sticks" Anderson of Last Nerve/ Irrelevant fame on drums.

Cleveland’s mighty Ringworm will be releasing their first ever live album, entitled Stigmatas In The Flesh, this August via A389 Recordings.  The album was recorded at the A389 showcase held in January 2010.  Ringworm’s song “The Ninth Circle” from the album can be streamed online.
