Although they're from the East Coast, Night Birds sounds as if they were born and bred in California in the '80s. Night Birds are a great mix of hardcore, punk, and sinister teenage thoughts. Their influences range from The Adolescents to Universal Monster Movies and everything in between.

Around the end of last year, Perth band REFRAIN decided to call it a day. Being plagued with bassplayer problems, the decision was made to quit while they were ahead. They've now announced their final shows over the June long weekend.

The year is 1999, Caustic Soda and Mid Youth Crisis have called it a day, and with the partial merging of the two, Blueline Medic was born. The same year, the "A Working Title in Green" EP is released by Sony Music, and then subsequently dropped from the label (idiots).

Soul Control, are back with a five-song EP  that will once again push the boundaries of the term “hardcore”. Guitarist Jim Connolly commented, "I wouldn't say there's one direct musical influence on the sound of this EP but the fact that we're nothing more than a punk band comprised of people raised in the 90's is becoming more and more evident."

Deathwish has released the teaser to a new DVD for Converge to be titled "Thousands Of Miles Between Us". Their previous DVD, "The Long Road Home" was also released by Deathwish back in 2003.

Last night Bodyjar announced that Sydney band Irelevant will be reforming to play their Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle run of "No Touch Red" shows, where Bodyjar will be playing their landmark album in full. Irrelevant last played in 2008 in support of then new album "New Guilt".
