Eleven song 7 inch from Byron Bay's SHACKLES, a relatively new band who play a mix of styles that incorporates equal parts of metal, hardcore and power violence. Shackles have a real heavy, dark, slow sound for most of these songs, mixed in with the odd moment of blast ala Mind Eraser and even classic NYHC breakdowns at times. Other times I think I can hear a bit of Rise and Fall in there. Basically there is a good mix of everything happening, that makes every song equally interesting as the one before. Vocals are abrasively screamed and sit well within what is happening musically. Shackles currently have a bit of a buzz about them and one can hear why listening to this release.
