CRUCIAL FIVE

DC_COVER_100dpiTHE DECLINE vocalist / bass player, Dan Cribb drops his 5 song debut solo EP. I like the Decline, I think they are a good band, Dan's vocals in the band at times remind me of Jay Whalley of Frenzal Rhomb. Having said that I don't think Jay should go and release an acoustic EP anytime soon. Sure it worked for Tony Sly and Joey Cape, as they got in early on the action. To do it now and pull it off, one really needs a unique and throaty voice like Jamie Hay or Darren Gibson perhaps. Dan's snotty, whiney voice just doesn't transfer to working acoustically for me. The songwriting is kinda cool though and the guy is talented, but this just doesn't appeal to my senses.
