Perth heavyweights BLKOUT, return with 11 new songs for their second full length release. Displaying maturity in their sound and song writing process, Blkout now sound like a band 100% comfortable with their sound. While their last album “Total Depravity” had an emphasis on hard riffage, moving away from the melodic groove of their demo, this new one is more like a mix of the two sounds into the one complete package. Plenty of well placed leads and overdubs to really keep things interesting, with most having a dark feel to them. At times I find this album very reminiscent of Fire and Ice’s latest effort which I love too, overall this is a real solid release and easily their finest to date.
