This Is Albatross recently caught up with Popeye Vogelsang formerly of FARSIDE and currently in YOUR FAVOURITE TRAINWRECK to talk about both bands. This is a great retrospective history of FARSIDE including the involvment of Zach De La Rocha, why the band broke up as well as a video interview as Popeye explains what a few classic FARSIDE songs were actually about.

The Smith Street Band have announced local supports for their national 'Sunshine & Technology' Aug/ Sep tour. Commencing on Aug 17th in Hobart, the album launch tour also hits Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra.

JONAH MATRANGA is essentially unique. His music is somewhere in between Nick Drake, Cheap Trick and Sinead O'Connor... but not really. Over the last 15 years, he’s fronted rock bands (Far, Gratitude, New End Original) and made more solo-ish albums as onelinedrawing and simply under his name. He’s made records with budgets ranging from $300 to $300,000.

Poison City Records is delighted to reveal that The Smith Street Band will release their second album Sunshine And Technology on August 24, 2012. To celebrate its release the band will tour extensively, playing headlining shows in capital cities Australia-wide.
