SLAPSHOT "Everything Wants To Kill You" March Australian Tour
In 1985 the first great wave of Boston hardcore-punk bands like SSD, DYS, and Jerry's Kids were breaking up or moving on, leaving behind a generation in search of someone, something, or some band to ignite the spark once more. Enter Slapshot with their viciously unapologetic take on hardcore, that largely stemmed from the outspoken aggression of singer Jack "Choke" Kelly who well and truly put Boston hardcore Back On The Map.
Inspired by their love of ice hockey, the name Slapshot soon became synonymous with the iconic hockey mask imagery personified by frontman Choke, who often carried a hockey stick with him on stage. This stick was not only to be wielded as a weapon at the crowd, but often at times also on himself.
Now for the first time in their long and turbulent history, Boston's legendary hardcore pioneers will be gracing our shores in March for a run of six shows along the East Coast.
To coincide with the visit, Old School Cartel will be releasing a very limited Slapshot tour 7 inch featuring a brand new, exclusive Australian only track, “Everything Wants To Kill You” coupled with a Poison Idea cover of "Pure Hate". The track is the band’s ode to the natural and stereotyped dangers of living in Australia. Pressed on one side and etched on the other, this 7 inch will only be available as a pre-sale bundle or purchasable on the night at the merch table.
Tickets for the pre-sale ticket and 7 inch bundle will be $35, available through oldschoolcartel.bigcartel.com on the 22nd of January. These will be strictly limited in numbers.
Door sales will be $35 on the night of the show with no 7 inch included. So if you plan on going, be sure to grab a pre sale bundle in advance on January 22nd.

**STARS AND STRIPES, Choke’s Oi / Streetpunk band will also be doing two separate shows while in the country. These will be announced at a later date.
