The iconic Boston-bred skacore octet have been in business for over 25 years, cranking out festival floor fillers and sponsoring late night drinking sessions like it's going out of style. At a time when so much of the industry's output has become the musical equivalent of junk mail, listening to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones is like receiving a series of postcards from a vacationing friend: handwritten, infectiously fun, wish-you-were-here inclusive, and, overall, personal.

To call The Bosstones influential would be an understatement. They are the progenitor of the ska-punk genre and the creators of the sub-genre, ska-core; fusing ska and punk with hardcore. They are also one of the most commercially successful ska bands, achieving mainstream success in 1997 with their multi-platinum album, "Let's Face It", which spawned 90's Triple J anthem, "The Impression That I Get".

As a live act The Bosstones have earned a reputation as one of the most prolific touring acts in the world. Famed for their exciting, high energy, upbeat shows their sound is a razor sharp combination of driving punk riffs, punctuated by breezy melodic horn charts, executed with dynamic rhythmic precision. Their sound shifts from circle pit inducing hardcore to galloping reggae backbeats and vice versa all wrapped up in the whisky-soaked raspy vocals of front man, Dicky Barrett. But reading about it isn't the same as listening to it and listening to it isn't the same as witnessing it live. The Bosstones have built a cult-like following by consistently bringing their plaid, their moves and energetic fun fuelled party music to the masses, night after night, gig after gig for over a quarter of a century!

"… the Mighty Mighty Bosstones remain pretty much the best at what they do, and what they do remains lots and lots of fun." (allmusic.com)

The Bosstones play a one-off exclusive Australian show on Thursday 5th July at the Metro Theatre in Sydney. This will be their first gig on Australian soil since the 2002 Warped tour and will be the only chance for Australian fans to see The Mighty Mighty Bosstones this year!

Big sing along choruses, classic ska core beats, vibrant horn lines – what more could you want?
