Teenage Bottlerocket’s brand new album — and their return to FAT — is complete! Stealing the Covers, a unique album of very special cover songs, is coming out this July!
“We sat with this project for a LONG time…like a decade. We thought it’d be rad to cover some smaller bands that never really got the attention they deserved. When it came time to bring the project to life, we had to sift through a ton of songs to finally narrow it down to these. This record represents some of our favorite songs from bands we’ve played with over the years. We’re so stoked it’s finally going to come out, and we’re extra stoked it’s coming out on Fat Wreck Chords. I’m pretty sure we are the first band to do a cover record on FAT. Yep. We First.” — Miguel
The first new song from TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET’S new album, Stealing the Covers is called “RoboCop Is A Halfbreed Sellout" from the band Sprocket Nova.
"Sprocket Nova was a band from our hometown of Laramie Wyoming. Their gimmick was they were all pissed off robots with names like Sony Danza, and they wore the shittiest robot costumes you’ve ever seen. It was basically grey sweat suits with sunglasses and cardboard hats; it was awesome! They were one of the first bands we decided to record for Stealing the Covers, and this song was the obvious choice. It’s about how Robo Cop is an asshole and a threat to the robot way of life. We hope you like it!!"
