Thursday night November 26 will see a special Melbourne premiere of the DESTROY CLEVELAND documentary.

Cleveland, Ohio is a city more likely to remind one of dilapidated factories or The Drew Carey show than a hotbed for scathing undeground music. "Destroy Cleveland" is a documentary which sets out to put Cleveland back on the map as a place which has fostered some of the rawest, rowdiest, most rabble-rousing hardcore punk groups in recent times. The film chronicles the scene from the mid 1980s to now, paying attention to renowned and notorious Cleveland exports like Ringworm and Integrity, while also paying dues to the unsung but no less influential acts that made this scene what it was.

The film features interviews with musicians, show promoters, record label owners and other Cleveland hardcore punk scene alumni as well as rare photos, flyers and live footage. Expect to see interviews with members of bands like h100s, Ringworm, Apartment 213, Quicksand, Hatebreed, One Life Crew, Nunslaughter, Fuck You Pay Me, Integrity, 9 Shocks Terror, In Cold Blood, Confront and many more.

Director Matthew Greenfield will be spinning the best shit to come from Cleveland/Ohio before and after the screening... and he'll have VHS copies of the doco for sale too.
