Music Photography Mini-Exhibition by Rod Hunt to Open Monday February 3 at Newtown Beach Burrito Company
Sydney based photographer Rod Hunt has a mini-exhibition opening on Monday February 3 at 6pm at the Newtown Beach Burrito Company. The exhibition will feature a selection of work that he has shot over the period from 2001 to 2013 of mostly live music performances and some band photo shoots.
The exhibition will run for a month and is part of an ongoing exhibition program using the walls of the Newtown Beach Burrito Company, that’s curated by inner west visual artist Glenn ‘Glenno’ Smith (this one will be the 25th to date). Prints will be available for very reasonable prices. With free burritos if you get there early!
Rod has had photographic work published internationally in publications including Unbelievably Bad, Rolling Stone, Drum Media, Kerrang!, Jmag, Terrorizer, Blunt, Metal Hammer, Australian Guitar, Sunday Telegraph and on websites such as SF Media.
He has photographed all of Australia’s major music festivals on many occasions – Big Day Out, Soundwave, Homebake, Splendour in the Grass, East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Dig It Up!, All Tomorrow’s Parties, Golden Plains and Meredith Music Festival. He has also covered music festivals internationally, including Rebellion (England), Hellfest (France), With Full Force (Germany) and Wacken (Germany).
Rod will be staging a large scale solo exhibition at the Chrissie Cotter Gallery, Camperdown, in late October to November 2014.
Rod also currently sings in Hostile Objects and Summonus having previously fronted Murder / The Blasting Process, Terrible Virtue and Persecution.
