Pallbearer

LIFE IS NOISE PRESENTS:

PALLBEARER (USA)
Australian Tour
June 2015

With just two albums under their belt, Pallbearer have inserted themselves at the forefront of the doom metal renaissance.

The Little Rock, Arkansas four piece haven’t done so by aping their predecessors with Iommic worship and down-tuned guitars but by playing against the grain, composing 10-minute epics that contort and evolve with every movement, revealing rich harmonies and complex melodies amongst the dread.

On 2014’s Foundations of Burden, the group’s second release for the venerable Profound Lore Records, Pallbearer sound like a band with twice their experience. Certainly, the Black Sabbath influence is there, but it’s filtered through an appreciation for the likes of Boston, Rainbow and Dio. Brett Campbell’s distinct vocal harmonies may recall the Prince of Darkness, but he delivers every line with the reverence of a hymn, exhaling with every word like it's been plucked from the depths of human suffering.

But make no mistake – Pallbearer are fucking heavy, with riffs that crush like a tonne of bricks covered in honey. For every uplifting moment of celebratory doom, there is an equal and opposite passage of pulverizing dread. This is the new wave of doom metal: dense, engulfing and utterly transcendent.

Witness Pallbearer on their very first Australian tour on the following dates:

June 17 – Melbourne – Ding Dong Lounge
June 18 – Hobart – Dark Mofo Festival
June 19 – Melbourne – Northcote Social Club
June 20 – Sydney – Hermann’s Bar
June 21 – Brisbane – Crowbar
