Local supports for the upcoming Foundation Australian tour have been announced. The band will feature on the second day of the Break The Ice Festival, alongside Misery Signals (USA), Disgrace (USA) and many more, before heading out on their own run of shows on the East Coast. Featuring on all dates is Melbourne's Warbrain, and on select dates Twitching Tongues (USA) and I Exist.
Leading the charge of America’s new breed of straight edge bands, Atlanta’s Foundation are the most aggressive and cerebral band around. Forming in 2006 and releasing their debut “Hang Your Head” in 2009, it has been a long road for Foundation, their 2011 debut full length “When The Smoke Clears” was heralded as the album of the year by many and still stands as a landmark in hardcore over the last decade. Having toured relentlessly in their early years, the band has been quiet of late as they lay down their follow up album to “When The Smoke Clears”. Foundation will bring their signature blend of message and fury to Australia for the first time as part of the Break The Ice 2014 festival in Melbourne and follow it up with a run of shows up the East Coast this May. Continuing the legacy of straight edge luminaries such as Bane and Have Heart, Foundation carry the torch into the future, Australia in their immediate sights and the world not far behind.
Joining Foundation will be Melbourne’s hardest Warbrain. Having released their debut album “Void Of Confusion” on Resist Records in 2013, Warbrain have stepped up to be one of the biggest hardcore bands doing the rounds in Australia. Once viewed a supergroup of members from other projects, the bands music combining riffs and rhythm has cemented them as an audience favourite in their own right. Alongside the release of their debut album in 2013, the band also released a split with US band Minus and toured with Brutality Will Prevail and performed sets at both Hardcore 2013 and Break The Ice. 2014 looks to be just as busy with the band performing a high profile set at Sike Your Mind and this month’s mini fest The Storm alongside Down To Nothing.
