Broken Hive Presents
RINGWORM "HAMMER OF THE WITCH" AUSTRALIAN TOUR MAY 2014
With Special Guests
AGAINST + CAGED GRAVE
Ringworm hail from Cleveland, Ohio, they are a dominant force in hardcore metal and have delivered album after album of classics as well as a consistently formidable live show which appeals to metalheads and hardcore fans alike. In May 2014, Ringworm will return to Australia once more to headline day one of Broken Hive’s Break The Ice Festival held in Melbourne annually and will take in the East Coast for a short run of shows, wreaking a path of destruction on their way to the biggest hardcore fest of the year.
Formed in 1991, Ringworm show no signs of slowing down, even two decades since their debut release “The Promise” cemented the band as a force to be recognised in heavy music. Through “Birth Is Pain”, “Justice Replaced By Revenge”, “Venomous Grand Design” and “Scars”, Ringworm have delivered blistering riffs and furious aggression and once again the thrash metal and hardcore hybrid will be released on new album “Hammer Of The Witch.” Ringworm will bring their destructive tunes to Australia in May, playing in Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney on their way to two huge shows in Melbourne.
Joining them on the tour will be Brisbane hardcore veterans Against, who are launching their new releases, including new full length album “Bring The End” released on Midnight Funeral in 2013 and new split 12” “Brotherhood” with recent tourists, Austria’s Bloodshed Remains. Against deliver aggression and honesty in equal measure, from their debut “My Hate, My Choice”, they have been a wrecking ball to the head for listeners, their enthusiasm infectious and their delivery crushing. Whipping out a set of classics and new cuts, Against are the perfect accompaniment to Ringworm this May.
Opening the package up will be Melbourne’s Caged Grave. New kids on the block, the powerviolence hardcore group is made up of members of classic Australian bands like In Name And Blood, 4 Dead and Reincarnation but don’t sound like any of those bands. With three releases and dozens of shows under their belt and countless more to come, Caged Grave are leaving their mark quickly, their sub-minute grind sure to shake the cobwebs from many a midweek punter.
