TRANSIT'S DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR ANNOUNCED!
TRANSIT will embark on their first Australian tour this August to mark the recent release of Listen & Forgive.
The north shore Boston outfit consistently expresses an arresting degree of honesty and individuality in their music, while continuing to evolve artistically from one release to the next. Heavily influenced early on by the punk scenes that all five members grew up in, TRANSIT's sound has since developed towards a more alternative, indie rock sound.
Listen & Forgive, the 3rd release from TRANSIT in just six years was the subject of great anticipation. Earlier efforts from the band have received countless accolades. Transit’s highly acclaimed LP, Keep This To Yourself, released in August 2010 on Run For Cover Records, inspired ABSOLUTEPUNK to rave: “Good luck keeping Transit’s passionate and infectious tunes a secret. Once you hear the first chords of opener “Dear Anyone,” you’ll immediately go out and tell all your friends about the best pop-punk album of 2010.” ALTERNATIVE PRESS, in a glowing review of Promise Nothing (Rise Records, 25 April 2011), praised the band’s meteoric creative growth, comparing them to Jimmy Eat World and Moneen. Promise Nothing was a limited edition special release for Record Store day and sold out in advance. ALTERNATIVE PRESS also named TRANSIT one of the "Bands To Watch in 2011" and truly lived up to the anticipation, touring throughout The States and further abroad alongside Four Year Strong, The Wonder Years, Less Than Jake, Bayside, Man Overboard, Senses Fail and many others. In 2012, TRANSIT continues the journey and continues to impress wherever the road takes them. “Music is about connecting with people, and that’s what we focus on more than anything else,” says TRANSIT’s vocalist Joe Boynton.
Melbourne's tech punks ANCHORS will provide national support. In their time together the quintet have earned themselves places on triple j's Short.Fast.Loud Top 40 list of 2010 for their debut album 'Bad Juju' and followed this up in 2011 landing a highly lauded spots on the 2011 Soundwave and Push Over festivals, before the band launched into tours of Japan and America. ANCHORS' sophomore release is on the horizon, with a release date scheduled for August.
