From the label...
Bad Habit is proud to announce the reissue of Cryptivore's Debut LP Celestial Extinction. A modern classic of Australian death metal. Originally released on Bitter Loss records, who imploded shortly after, taking a chunk of the copies with them into the void. The tracks have been re-mastered by Cliff Young and Mikey Young for maximum killing potential and re-cut on 45rpm for the highest ballistic impact, making previous version sound feeble by comparison. New interpretations of the artwork with much more attention to detail and presentation. A superior record in every way.
The record release will be mid december (test pressings approved, artwork very nearly ready for print) with pre orders up in a month or so.
To celebrate the unleashing of this enhanced killing machine we've put some very limited test pressings up on the Bad Habit webstore. Theres 2 versions. The Chung King rip and the Alan Frank Galactic Aliens version. Pick your king. We also have a new t shirt design originally meant for the now cacelled Carcass show that Cryptivore were playing. Theres also a few Chinese press cds with a sick obi strip.
Cryptivore Celestial Extinction is hatched from the rotting brain of Chris Anning. Writting and recording the whole album over the plague years of 2018-2021. (Unholy creatures are summoned to fill out the ranks for live shows). This release sees a slight change in style from the demo, channeling the deadened spirits of more classic death metal. The juices of Carcass, Amorphis, Deceased and Grave are sloshing around in this coffin. Sweeping guitars and catchy melody buried in the grime make this so much more then a genre exercise or some nostalgia theatre. This sits in and contributes to the cannon of death metal.
