Trust Records will release the first ever studio recording from BAD BRAINS titled 'Are You Ready" due out on Nov 6th.

For decades, the first recordings of Bad Brains circulated unofficially among tape-trading punks - an ask-a-punk rarity known only to a relative few. Now, nearly five decades later, the session has been newly mixed by Ian MacKaye and will receive its first official release, coming to vinyl, cassette, and digital on November 6th.

 Captured in a single frantic hour at Inner Ear Studios in March 1979, the six-song session represents the earliest known studio recordings of Bad Brains and an extraordinary document of the band at the very beginning of its history. The first track from the release, the previously unreleased original studio recording of “Pay to Cum,” is now available to stream.

ARE YOU READY: THE FIRST STUDIO RECORDING (Inner Ear - March 1979) was mastered by Pete Lyman at Infrasonic. Darryl Jenifer created the “duct-tape logo” that appears on the cover and is used for the Side B etching, as well as the handwritten “Bad Brains” type that appears on the LP label, specifically for the album package. The album layout and design is by Kill Your Idols Studio and the 45 RPM 12” will feature a double-sided insert with rarely seen images from the Bad Brains archive and liner notes by Alec MacKaye.
