We are excited to welcome San Diego's Life Stained Red to the WAR Records roster.

Out of San Diego’s tight-knit hardcore community comes Life Stained Red, a metallic hardcore band rooted in the aggression, conviction, and riff-driven intensity of the’90s. Drawing from touchstones like Strife, Undertow, Unbroken, Have Heart, Indecision, and Strain, the band taps into a sound that is heavy without losing its sense of purpose.

Life Stained Red features vocalist Chris Havlu (Cold Path, Yield), guitarist Dezmond Chavez (Pollution of Soul), guitarist Dan Porcho (Stateside, Whirlwind, Dare), bassist Kaya Martinez (Yield), and drummer Jon Jon (Cold Path, Yield, Across Life). Their collective history in the San Diego scene gives the band an instinctive chemistry and a live energy that has quickly established them as one of the scene’s promising newer acts.

Their sound also arrives at a moment when a new generation of hardcore bands are looking back to the ’90s with renewed interest. Bands like Magnitude, Contention, and Inclination have helped push 90’s inspired metallic hardcore back into the conversation, drawing from the era without treating it as a costume.

Following the release of their three-song demo in early 2026, Life Stained Red caught the attention of Los Angeles-based WAR Records, who signed the band shortly afterward. Their first release for the label, the two-song promo My Will, is a short and punishing introduction. Built around crushing riffs, driving rhythms, and lyrics grounded in personal struggle and genuine conviction. It’s familiar territory, but Life Stained Red approaches it with enough urgency and authenticity to make the sound feel less like a revival and more like a continuation.
