Innercity Uprising has released a discography CD for Cronulla band PLAYGROUND OF HATE
From the label...
After a year or two of struggling with high and low emotions, looking at old photos of Patch, thinking of all the laughs, all the debauchery and all the memories, the PLAYGROUND OF HATE double CD discography is finally here.
The compilation includes 31 studio tracks from their early demo, the self titled and suffocate CDs and three raging live sets, including one recorded live to air on 2SER radio.
If you’ve lived under or rock (or aren’t old enough to know ) PLAYGROUND OF HATE were the wild journey men of the underground Sydney hardcore punk scene. Hailing from the beach suburb of Cronulla (except poor James their ethnic bass player) the lads lived life on the edge, surfing hard, parting hard and playing punk shows even fucking harder. Total mad men!
There shows were wild, raging and they were never short of a laugh due to the antics of their, unhinged vocalist PATCH! He made sure everyone had a good time, especially himself!
Channeling a range of influences from UK hardcore and early US punk but really blending it together with a massive dose of their own flavour.
PLAYGROUND OF HATE were a unique band that never gave one flying fuck about trends or whether they upset anyone or not. They were always the outsiders coming from the beaches but every weekend they’d come into the city and blow everyone the fuck away.
Not only is this release a tribute to our dear friend PATCH but a tribute to the band themselves.
PLAYGROUND OF HATE were very much, an extremely important part of SYDNEY HARDCORE history.
This one is for our friend PATCH!
We’re still always waiting to see you checking out the waves or on ya paddle board when we’re down at the beach.
Miss you mate!
