Hardcore authority Flatspot Records has announced their signing of Los Angeles firebrand, Desmadre. The band, which has been on the come up since their 2021 formation, has earned a loyal following for their volatile live shows and their fiery delivery of metallic fury. Citing source material spanning Sepultura, Slipknot, Death Threat, and Terror, Desmadre is ready to grab the brass ring as hardcore's next emerging voice.
Desmadre vocalist Carlos Moreno spoke about the band's recent signing and the beginning of a pivotal era for the project. “Since I was a kid I dreamt about telling stories from my perspective, now I’ve been given the chance to do it at a global scale. I’ve been given the tools to pass down these stories to my kids and future generations.”
To usher in the start of the band's Flatspot campaign, Desmade has teamed with iconic photographer, videographer and cultural documentarian Estevan Oriol to release the introductory video for "West Coast Story". The track, in collaboration with Alpha & Omega as well as Oriol's famed Joker Brand frames the grit and streetwise aggression of modern hardcore with an LA-backbone.
Moreno further elaborated on working with a legend to showcase the full scope of the band. “West Coast Story is DESMADRE, if you’re from here then you know. If you aren’t from here, you’re about to find out what we’re all about, bienvenidos al desmadre. Having the opportunity to work with a legend like Estevan has been a life changing experience, the same dude whose photography and art shaped the west coast is helping shape the desmadre we are creating. It is such a crazy and humbling experience. Being a part of his portfolio, amongst some of the greatest artist, some of which I grew up listening to and admiring. It’s still mind blowing to me. I am beyond grateful for the experience and the knowledge he has provided us with.”
