amenitystruggle

Indecision Records has announced an anthology for AMENITY titled "This Is Our Struggle" due out on Jan 17th.

Crisp, heavy, melodic, upbeat, and full of hooks, Amenity formed in 1986 amongst a chaotic, and often times violent, San Diego punk scene. They are regarded as that city's first straight-edge hardcore band, leading a positive charge that would be influential and respected for years to come.

The band (comprised of vocalist Mike Down, guitarist Tim Gonzales, bass player Sergio Hernandez, and drummer Baruch Kellman) quickly built a loyal following of energetic, angst-filled youth, seeking to collectively aspire to lives not represented by the increasingly nihilistic, local punk scene, or by that decade's synth-pop filled radios and TV's.

In their existence Amenity toured the United States and ventured into Canada before playing a "final" show - headlining to a sold-out crowd at SDSU's Back Door - on November 30th, 1990.

In 2009, they reformed for a very short period and recorded four tracks for Gravity records that never made it into production.

Collected here is an anthology of the recordings made between 1989-2009. Re-mixed from the original tapes by Ben More (Singing Serpent Studios) and re-mastered by Nick Townsend (Infrasonic Sound).
