Full of Hell + Andrew Nolan Announce Collaborative LP Scraping The Divine, out Nov 15th on Closed Casket
The exhilarating new collaboration between grind/noise rock act Full of Hell and Toronto-based industrial artist Andrew Nolan— Scraping The Divine — promises a sonic exploration unlike any of their prior endeavors.
The album's first single “Burdened by Solar Mass” serves as a haunting introduction to this collaboration. Dylan Walker of Full of Hell describes the track as “...the first meeting point between Full of Hell and Andrew Nolan. The end product is an amalgam of mangled guitars and dub pulses and an ominous warning about our own insignificance in the universe.”
Crafted throughout recording sessions spanning from 2019 to 2023, Scraping The Divine captures the raw energy and relentless spirit of both artists. The album was recorded by renowned producers Seth Manchester of Machines with Magnets and Kevin Bernsten of Developing Nations, and mixing and production was led by Andrew Nolan. The finishing touch comes courtesy of mastering engineer Nick Townsend.
Scraping The Divine features an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Taichi Nagura (Endon), GxCx (Contagious Orgasm, BBVGC, ex-Guilty Connector), Justin K Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu, JK Flesh), Intensive Care, and Alex Hughes (Hatred Surge, Holy Money), further enriching its intricate soundscape. The album’s striking artwork is illustrated by Savage Pencil, celebrated for his iconic designs for legendary acts like Swans, Sonic Youth, Big Black, and Sunn O))).
Incoming November 15th on Closed Casket Activities, Scraping The Divine pushes boundaries and challenges perceptions, making it a must-listen for fans of both Full of Hell and Andrew Nolan, as well as anyone seeking an immersive auditory experience.
