Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Mile End is crafting hard-riffing hardcore that represents their city. Teasing towards a new album, the band released single “Bind” earlier this year and now follow it up with “No Excuse” on New Morality Zine. On the track, the band team up with fellow Brampton artist DEAR-GOD, who adds a bouncier delivery against vocalist Jake Thompson’s gritty approach. Inspired by bands like Foundation and Guns Up!, Mile End’s focus was to make a song heavy on repetitive rhythms that encourages their audience to shout back and mosh.
On writing the song, Thompson shares:
“A song about Brampton and the Flowercity hardcore scene. This is a scene we built up with our homies from when we were young, we still doing it and we’re not gonna stop. Got our homie from Brampton DEAR-GOD on the track, also a member of Lice, been a day one that helped Mile End to get off the ground and figure out how to work as band.”
Mile End just completed a short run with Spaced and have upcoming dates supporting Bane and The Dirty Nil. Info below.
