Sydney hardcore punk band BACKHAND have released a video for new track "Nothing Ever Changes".
ANGER SICK is the latest release from Indigenous Sydney underground hardcore punk crew BACKHAND.
The new 7” vinyl release features an A side featuring 4 short songs of raw, aggressive, nasty hardcore punk that clocks in at around 4 minutes, whilst the B side features the tune NOTHING EVER MATTERS which is a 4 minute protest song aimed at politicians and their incompetents in relation to closing the gap on indigenous health care / community needs.
“For decades now we’ve had waves of incompetent politicians that have never achieved the very goals they set out to achieve in regard to closing the gap in health/care/needs for Indigenous Australians.
It’s an appalling all round display of racism and disregard towards indigenous Australians from the highest levels of our so-called government”
Nothing seems to ever change. Sack them all” …KP (vocalist and proud Kamilaroi woman)
ANGER SICK was recorded and mastered by Daniel Antix at DEF WOLF studio during April 2024 on the blood-soaked lands of the Dharawal people in Kurnell.
“It’s a little surreal and disturbing to think we were recording these songs in the very place that Captain Cooked landed and tasted indigenous blood for the first time. Kurnell is a place full of restless spirits, I was getting chills up my spine when I was laying the vocals down for NOTHING EVER CHANGES, although I was excited that we were recording, there was always this ill feeling happening within me knowing that we were on the very lands that were invaded by white settlers”
BACKHAND have a busy end of yeah scheduled in with a stacked October of launch parties around Sydney, Lismore and Brisbane.
