Back in late May, Connecticut alternative rock band Splitview made their debut with single “Cherish.” Building on dark melodies and grunge-centric guitars, the enthralling track quickly gained traction, currently sitting at over 30,000 streams on Spotify. Today, Splitview follow it with their second single, “Into Nothing,” out through Static Era Records. Centered around a rocky relationship, the song’s dynamic matches moving from crunchy to floaty and full of emotion.
On the lyrics of “Into Nothing” the band share:
“Into Nothing goes over craving to see the good in someone, only for that to be overshadowed by the bad in them, and having that take precedence over your relationship with them. You start by seeing a beautiful picture of peace and harmony, only for that to be ruined by the reality of the situation. You want a chance to restart at the end, but know that the storm has already done it’s damage.”
The video for “Into Nothing” was filmed at Static Era Records store, turning the shop into a performance space, and can be watched below.
Splitview is Erik Brzoska - Guitar and Vocals, Chris Kovacs - Lead Guitar, Jimmy Davenport - Bass, and Max Laabs - Drums.
