In April, ASkySoBlack gave us their first new music in two years, following 2022’s Autumn In The Water EP, with the shoegaze/post-hardcore hybrid “Boy Like A Bruise.” Now the Philadelphia band share “Carousel Horse,” leaning into their more alternative and grunge influences. The guitars and bass hit heavy as much as they shimmer, the nonchalant vocals float until hitting a screaming peak. It all makes for an infectious blend, touching on escapism, depression, losing to vices, and more of the human experience. “Carousel Horse” was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Adam Cichoki at Timber Studios and is out now through New Morality Zine.
