Returning from a short, unofficial hiatus in the wake of weddings and funerals, Brisbane alt rock heroes Semantics are back in full force with their new single Calico.

Influenced by artists as subtle as Augie March to fellow Brisbane rock legends Violent Soho, as shoegazey as Superheaven to the indie punk of Perth act Sly Withers, Calico touches on every sub-genre of rock in an incredibly cohesive body of work.

The lyrical content is more poetic and metaphorical than ever, yet still delivering the earworm hooks fans have grown to adore. This is Australian alternative rock at its finest.
