San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal pioneers Exodus are gearing up to release a new live album titled British Disaster: The Battle Of '89 (Live At The Astoria) on May 31 via Nuclear Blast.
This release marks the unveiling of a remarkable live performance captured 35 years ago at the Astoria in London, back in March of 1989.
To celebrate the announcement of the live album, Exodus has unveiled a visually captivating video for their new live single "Fabulous Disaster (Live At The Astoria)". This track, originally from their 1989 album of the same name, offers a tantalizing preview of the high-energy intensity showcased on the upcoming release.
Recorded on March 8, 1989, at the Astoria, this historic performance captures EXODUS during a pivotal moment in their career, shortly after releasing their acclaimed third studio album, "Fabulous Disaster". The band embarked on a vigorous five-month tour to promote the album, including a notable European leg where this London show was recorded but never released—until now.
Vocalist Gary Holt share the following:
Sometimes something truly awesome drops right in your lap. In the case of EXODUS, it was full multitrack tape reels from our headlining show in London while on tour for 'Fabulous Disaster'! So we thought, 'let's listen and see what we have', and BAM! We were on FIRE! Pure over-the-top thrash, one hundred percent live, and as dangerous as ever! We are fucking stoked to be able to release this for our fans. Total mayhem!
