Hardcore punk band BIB have announced the new EP, BIBLICAL, set for release on January 26th through Quality Control HQ. Frantic, expressive, noisy, raw, uncomfortable - that’s just the tip of describing the five songs that make up the record. Today, the band share two of those tracks, “Two-Faced Planet” and “Bitter Mind,” with an accompanying music video. “Two-Faced Planet” sticks to BIB’s classic guttural approach, while “Bitter Mind” showcases more driven melodies, both intertwined with thumping rhythms. The video for the songs, directed, filmed, and edited by Emma Penrose and Zack Shorrosh, stems from a live performance into a mind-bending adventure, and can be watched below.

Diving into the tracks’ lyrics, vocalist Nathan Ma states:
“‘Two-Faced Planet’ is about being born to the world of adversity and touches on thoughts of ‘Location Dysphoria’. When you simply feel guilty for existing, and how easily this world and reality we are born in can be cruel and feel as if all things are workings against you.

‘Bitter Mind is song’ about higher thinking, searching deep inside your own self to free your mind.”

Formed in Omaha, Nebraska in 2015, the four-piece hardcore punk band hit the ground running that fall with the release of their demo that quickly earned a cult following. The band would release the EP, POP in summer 2016 on Deranged Records, with subsequent releases following the encapsulating one word title. MOSHPIT landed in 2017 and the band’s full-length DELUX in February 2020, both through Pop Wig Records. Four years later, we head into the arrival of BIBLICAL. A natural progression, the five song EP finds BIB at their wildest and tightest yet.

Entering the studio with Arthur Rizk (Ghostemane, Power Trip) was a dream come true for BIB and allowed the band to get comfortable with experimenting. On BIBLICAL, you’ll hear BIB’s throat curling vocal delivery and noise-driven riffs, met with hooky rhythms. The tracks have a gritty feel, littered with grimey “bleghs” and a berserk urgency wrapped into lyrics that surround the ideas of life, death and the circle that it brings us through.

BIBLICAL is available for preorder on vinyl now through Quality Control HQ in North America, UK, Europe, and digitally on Bandcamp.
