Sydney band AMENDS will release a new album titled "Our place Amongst The Dirt" through Resist Records on September 22nd.
For those that have followed the trajectory of Amends from their emo-rock origins to their countrified reinvention, the idea of following up 2021's Tales of Love, Loss and Outlaws would seem a daunting prospect. It was the band's most successful effort to date, after all: a Top 20 spot on ARIA's Vinyl Albums chart, a 2021 Australian Music Prize (AMP) longlisting and international support from BBC Radio 1 and Brooklyn Vegan were just a handful of accolades that came its way. For their third full-length effort Our Place Amongst the Dirt, however, the Western Sydney quartet have confidently ridden out of its shadow with all guns blazing and a recalibrated approach to their heartfelt, southern-fried blend of alt-country and alt-rock.
As with Tales... and the band's 2019 debut So Far from Home, Amends shacked up in Sydney's Def Wolf Studios with producer Thomas Sigal to go for the hat trick on Our Place Amongst the Dirt. Also on the list of repeat offenders is renowned Melbourne artist and designer Annie Walter.
