Back with their first new music since 2019, North Carolina hardcore band Magnitude have shared “Rectify,” out now. Signed to Triple B Records, the straight edge band waste no time on the track, immediately diving into an immersive riff and their straight-forward vocal delivery. The song’s hard-hitting energy is built for two-stepping while the lyrics take a more thoughtful tone about breaking away from false realities. “Rectify” was self-produced and recorded by the band, and mixed and mastered by John Howard at Warhouse Recordings. It’s a taste of what’s to come from an album slated for release later this year, with more details on the way.
On the single, vocalist Russell Bussey states:
“Rectify is ultimately about rediscovering your true self. It’s about healing your mind from the effects of a society that places so much value in the vanity of the material world and status quo. The idea is to free your mind from the constant cycle of pursuing external validation that leads to unnecessary self criticism and insecurities.”
Magnitude is Russell Bussey (vocals), Connor McAuliffe (drums), Matt Kalbaugh (guitar), Anthony Burke (guitat), and Alex Cejas (bass).
