Hailing from Nashville, TN, Lockstep create a sonic output that is punishing and atmospheric at the same time. Pulling from post-rock, shoegaze, doom, and noise rock, Lockstep fits perfectly alongside acts like Jesu, Holy Fawn, and Nothing. Today the band shares their new single and video “Weave”. The track starts off spacey with haunting dual vocals that lead to a pulsing climax before mellowing out again. The lush rhythms navigate through the lyrics focused on shifting a negative mindset.
“Weave” stems from the band’s upcoming EP, Arrival, set for release on May 19th. The EP was self-produced and recorded by the band with guitarist Matt Schumacher taking the lead on tracking and mixing, and mastering was done by Zac Montez (Cloakroom, Keep). Arrival marks Lockstep’s first proper release, following their two song output, Lockstep 1, released in April 2021. More details to come.
Lockstep is comprised of Austin Rolison (Drums and Vocals), Matt Schumacher (Guitar and Vocals), and Tanner Ihrie (bass).
