…So Unknown’…, it sums up our band,’ says JESUS PIECE frontman Aaron Heard mulling over the title of the Philly metallic hardcore squad’s much anticipated second album. ‘Everything about us has always been a very unknown situation. We didn’t know what we were supposed to sound like, we didn’t know who we were supposed to tour with, and that’s stuck with us from the start. We’re a very enigmatic band.’ Seven years into a career built on an uncompromising ethos and carefully crafted, brutal sounds, JESUS PIECE melds intelligence and aggression in a manner that doesn’t just push the genre’s rigid boundaries. Taking their name from a popular piece of religious jewelry – ‘It had a hip hop vibe,’ says Aaron. ‘We didn’t want a stupid metal sounding name, so we went the other way and rolled with it.’
