Jivebombn

Baltimore hardcore band Jivebomb are set to make their Flatspot Records debut with their EP, Primitive Desires, set for release on October 7th. Today the band shares the title track, which gives a notion of what they’re all about - inciting and powerful songs that make you want to stage-dive. The video is explosive, catching the raw energy the band puts forth in their live shows.

Speaking on what the song is about, vocalist Kat commented:

“Being the sole person responsible for your demise and/or success and wanting to let it out on yourself, whether ‘it’ be anger/aggression or gratitude. How self-sabotaging and wanting to get back at yourself can look like thriving out of spite, or making all the wrong choices and living with it.”

Primitive Desires was recorded with producer Matt Redenbo at J. Robbins’ Magpie Cage studio and it was mixed and mastered by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Regulate, Soul Blind). Across the record, Kat delivers with ferocity over groove-laden guitars and bouncy mosh parts, reminiscent of bands like Negative Approach and The Rival Mob. Clocking in at under five minutes, it’s a brazen effort that gives the listener just enough time to take a breath before wanting to hit the repeat button. Despite only being a band for a short time, Jivebomb have been able to share the stage with some heavy-hitters, from old-school bands like Slapshot to other upcoming acts like Restraining Order, and will hit the road for a string of dates with labelmates Scowl this fall. Keeping things short, fast, and catchy, it’s only a matter of time before Jivebomb stakes their claim as an essential hardcore band.

Primitive Desires is available for pre-order now through Flatspot Records.

Clocking in at just 48 seconds, Jivebomb packs a fury on “Illusion Of Choice”. Perpetuating the band’s blend of hardcore and fast punk, the chorus is meant to be sung along to, while the guitar work packs just enough oomph for a quick circle pit. The song serves as the second single off the band’s upcoming EP, Primitive Desires, set for release October 7th on Flatspot Records.

Speaking on the track, vocalist Kat states:
“It’s just chaos and words that are meant to evoke some sort of feeling or reaction. All in the name of thinking we’ve ever had an original thought or stance. there’s no true normal/right decision-making when the circumstances were not normal or right to begin with.”
