Baltimore, MD band End It have shared their new single and video, “New Wage Slavery.” The blistering song comments on the class struggles and government negligence in America and the world, with the video splicing between the good and bad moments in the band’s home city. Vocalist Akil Godsey is joined on the track by Justice Tripp (Angel Du$t, Trapped Under Ice), whose snarling delivery expertly compliments Godsey’s more charismatic approach. Thrashing guitars take lead against dynamic drums, sure to set off a ripple of stage-dives during the band’s live set.
On the sentiment of the song, guitarist Ray Lee explains:
“The growing struggle between the ruling class and common people / citizens that becomes more apparent every day as we get fucked by those in power in this country and in the world in general. Fuck them all, steal their shit.”
On their upcoming EP, Unpleasant Living set for release July 8th on Flatspot Records, End It delivers with ferocity and purpose. The message? Mind your business. Unpleasant Living was recorded with Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. On the EP, the band takes heavy influence from ‘90s hardcore, drawing comparisons to acts like Leeway, Gut Instinct, and Maximum Penalty. Unpleasant Living is up for pre-order now on Flatspot Records, with the vinyl and CD also including the band’s 2020 EP One Way Track, and 2017 self-titled release.
