Legendary recording studio, Inner Ear, that captured the '80s DC Hardcore Punk scene... closed its doors in October 2021. Although owner, engineer and mentor, Don Zientara started out in his basement for the first 12 years or so... it was the space that he leased at 2701 South Oakland Street in Arlington, Virginia since 1990... that became a landmark for local music. For over 30 years, this location recorded the soundtrack of Washington DC's most infamous bands.
Studio credits: Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Fugazi, White Zombie, Jimmy Eat World, Slickee Boys, S.O.A., Iron Cross, Scream, Black Market Baby, Dag Nasty, Embrace, Shudder to Think, Velocity Girl, Bikini Kill, The Suspects, Holy Rollers, Girls Against Boys, Adam West and many, many more!
