Wollongong band RADIO REJECTS have released a new track "Shermer, Illinois" with an accompanying 80s teen movie infused video.
The song written by front man Smith as an ode to spending a big chunk of his years growing up watching 80s teen movies, in particular, John Hughes movies, where the fictional town of "Shermer, Illinois" was always the setting for his films.
The track is filled punchy punk rock, catchy movie references, fun fueled nostalgia and the Rejects trademark 'guitar lead" that once again leaves its remanence burning in your brain, walking away humming the tune until next time you listen.
The film clip for "Shermer, Illinois" , much like the bands demeanor, is a hilarious throwback to the movies and tells the story of how Smith learnt all life's lessons through watching these films and sometimes forgetting life isn't a movie.
With cameos from bands across the country and fun community presence. It show cases what punk rock is all about..
Its also written, filmed and edited by Radio Rejects' frontman Smith!
