On December 7, Merge Records will make two elusive classics by California legends REDD KROSS widely available for the first time!

"Hot Issue" contains a dozen turn-of-the-century new digs and old finds recorded by the band in Hollywood between 1980 and 2007. Available on limited-edition translucent fluorescent green Peak Vinyl, licorice black vinyl, and CD, it’s an energetic compilation created to be a complete play experience with unreleased and rare tracks unearthed from the Jeff McDonald archives.

Like fellow legendary Great American John Waters, Redd Kross have devoted their career to making subversive entertainment in a high pop celebrity style, reintroducing in their especially golden late ’80s/early-’90s period such forbidden classic-rock tropes as melodies, harmonies, ripping musicianship, and primary colors-stuff that had (largely) been ditched in the underground rock's post-punk, No Wave, hardcore, and sensitive-egghead scenes.
