"One Month" is a new track from the forth coming Marathon "I’ll Never Look At You The Same Way" 7" out in March/April on Midnight Funeral.
Marathon comes from the musical melting pot of Brisbane. As members of such an eclectic scene, their strange sound is not surprising. The band combines influences from bands from Converge and Entombed to The Jesus Lizard and Unsane. Started in 2009, the band has toured the East Coast of Australia multiple times, released their debut EP Never Safe on Arrest Records and undergone physical metamorphosis more than once.
I’ll Never Look At You The Same Way is Marathon’s first release for Midnight Funeral records. It is a chaotic and aggressive dive into darkness, the weird product of the bands diverse influence. The three tracks were recorded and mixed by David Williams (Fires Of Waco, Quiet Steps). Previous member Nick Lucas lends his throat to the blistering 622 and Hightower, and current vocalist Michael Nix performs on the relentless blunt force of One Month.
Lyrically the EP follows a theme of loss and loneliness. It acknowledges that there are no easy answers in life. It’s not the soundtrack to giving up – it’s the soundtrack to moving forward and battling, as best you can, against the chaos.
Hailing from Perth, West Australia, Negative Reinforcement have also put their debut 7 inch up for streaming via their bandcamp page. Viper Death Lock Records will be putting this one out in the not too distant future.
"In anticipation of the upcoming release of our 7", here is a stream of all the tracks! Hope you enjoy, and we will keep you up to date when the physical copies come into fruition!"
VICES (Lyrics)
I remember when you called me a faggot
For the patches that I wore
I remember when you ran hardcore
From a fucking messageboard
And it seems you've lost your rap influence
Now that Madball isn't cool
I'm so glad you're now reading Ginsburg
Fucking intellectuals
URGH
