Thrash-garage-punk force of nature VOIID return with galvanising new single 'Twin'. The track comes alongside the announcement the band will be hitting the road with headline tour dates in Brisbane, Surfer's Paradise and Byron Bay this August, ahead of their BIGSOUND showcase.
Promising to "make your face melt and your boyfriend cry", 'Twin' sees VOIID flexing their lyrical and sonic dexterity, urging listeners to embrace their individuality. Pushing back on societal pressures to conform aesthetically, VOIID warn - "you'll never get anywhere, looking like everyone else". Quintessential razor-wire guitar, brattish drums and forthright vocals collide in the brazen third cut from VOIID's upcoming debut album. Lead guitarist Kate McGuire explains, "The song is about society's expectations of how we should look, dress, feel and sound and that the only person who should dictate these things for you is yourself. We feel that abiding by someone else's standards won't get you anywhere."
VOIID head out on a three-date east coast tour in support of 'Twin', hitting Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Byron, taking GC faves Crum along for the ride, and will be joined by Boing Boing, Honeygum and Birdhouse respectively. Despite their young years, the band have joined the likes of Grinspoon, Camp Cope, Skegss, The Gooch Palms, The Coathangers (US), Dwarves (US), Bleeding Knees Club and Drunk Mums on stage, as well as joining line ups at Groovin the Moo, Blurst of Times, Shakafest and Gizzfest. VOIID also bring their razor sharp live set to BIGSOUND 2018, where they're sure to 'melt faces' with their unapologetically raucous live show.
