Canberra four-piece Glitoris unleash politically-charged sonic and visual hit of punk rock fury, 'Spit Hood' ahead of upcoming tour with Regurgitator and announce debut album.
The dynamic first cut of Glitoris' debut album is a damning critique on police brutality and failures in the criminal justice system. ‘Spit Hood’ sees the band harness their powerful musicianship and outrage in this furious sonic punch-back. In Glitoris' own words, the track is "a raging ‘FUCK YOU’ to those in law enforcement abusing their positions and the authorities who fail to hold perpetrators accountable. A fearless scream for justice in the face of widespread political apathy."
Glitoris take 'Spit Hood' on the road for an Australia-wide tour in August as Regurgitator’s special guests, as well as a special homecoming single launch show in their at The Basement in Canberra. Having kicked off the year with a headline slot at Sydney’s Psych Fest and an eight-night New Zealand Fringe Festival residency with Sound & Fury, and support slots with the likes of Amanda Palmer, Regurgitator, Frenzal Rhomb and Shonen Knife under their belts, upcoming Glitoris live shows will see previously unheard material unleashed. Recorded Sydney’s Pet Food Factory studios with Jay Whalley (Frenzal Rhomb), mixed by Clem Bennett and mastered by Mandy Parnell (Bjork, The XX), Glitoris' debut album is due for release later in 2018 via Buttercup Records/MGM Distribution. Building on their critically acclaimed EP The Disgrace (2016) and explosive inauguration day single, ‘Trump Card’ (2017), the album features their most powerful material to date and will see the band touring nationally and internationally through to 2019, bringing with them their roaring, uncompromising and unforgettable live show.
